How To Kiss Your Lecturers' Ass...Discreetly?

All average students with few (or maybe lots, like I did) occasions of skipping lectures and tutorials should read this. If you want your lecturer to remember you especially during exam papers marking, you need to follow closely to these tips:

Do some revision before you’re going to the next class if you’ve skipped the previous one. Appear to be prepared during the class, but don’t act you’re too smart. If your lecturer calls up your name during that class (lecturers tend to do this, especially if you’ve been missing from their class few times), you should be able to answer their questions correctly. But at the same time, pretend not knowing some of the details and ask him back. Sometimes this tip doesn’t work as much, especially if your lecturer is a fussy, hot tempered, old virgin women lecturer. However, the goal here is getting your lecturer to know and remember your face. If you got scolded it’s better.hehe

Get involved in all presentations and Q&A sessions in class. But please act in professional manner. Don’t project yourself as a self centered and overly expose. This tip works best for student who has confidence to do public presentation and speaking. For those who have chills and might faint during presentation as well please keep yourself at distant. You might try the next tip.

Do all your paperwork with minimal errors as possible. For that, you should draft your paperwork and meet your lecturer. Let him read and let he comments on your draft. Ask him what else that he needs from your paperwork that isn’t there. If your lecturer hasn’t given you formats for the paperwork, take the trouble to personally ask him. Get to know what are his favorite fonts, line spacing, font size and other things. The goal here is to get closer to him, and make him feel appreciated. Tell him that his opinions and comments really important to you so that you can deliver the best out of your paperwork. Duh! What if my lecturer doesn’t want to cooperate? Don’t worry, he will remember you at your first attempt. And you probably might have to expect more than one attempt. Not many students doing this. Lalalala..mission accomplished.

Send a thank you card to all your lecturers. Plus, apologize for all your wrongdoings towards him in that card. Send the card after your last class, but not directly after, as long it reached him before final exams. Give about 2-3 days after the last class. Let him forget you, receive your card and recalls your face and then memorise your name. But remember, don’t give the card personally, that is kissing asses right in the face. Who knows if he condemns you if you go direct to him. Remember, the objective here is to make him remember you. He already forgets about you once the class season is over. But he has to recall your image when he receives your card and memorise your name. During paper markings, he will, again recall your face when he sees your name on the paper. So, it’s a double reactions.

Better still if you buy personalize cards for each lecturer. Because people talk and as lecturers, they are proud to tell other colleagues that they’ve received card from their students. It’s ok if you didn’t personalize, but as I told you before, it’s better to. And don’t exclude anyone from your list. If you decide to give to one, give to all of them, or don’t bother to give at all.

You might want to try these tips. It’s neither hard nor expensive. After all, it’s not only abut your exam marks or kissing asses; it’s good to get to know your lecturers and starts showing your appreciation towards them. I did all the above personally. And believe me it works to some extent, they still can recognize me until now. They once told me, I’m the only student who gave them thank you cards. And few of them still keep my paperwork for other students’ sample.
