I don’t know if you guys like paintings, sculptures, art piece and all, but today I spent almost 3 hours of walking, staring & criticizing (well, silently to myself) at the IMCAS held at Danga City Mall level 4. They took almost all the empty shops in the 4th floor and turn it into showrooms with one end of the level largest shop lot as the main showcase. Danga City Mall used to be Best World (supposed biggest mall in JB before Aeon City Tebrau which is now the largest I guessed). Best World sadly was not the best, the roads at that time was still under construction, contributing the low interest of people going there for shopping or entertainment (they got bowling, clubs etc). Slowly it turns to be like a haunted mall, shops closed and pretty soon people forgot about it.

But after the Danga Bay management took over plus some money from Danaharta (if I’m not mistaken), it is what it is today. Still very new (less than 1 year since the take over), it still have vacant shop lots. I could say about 50% is still vacant from what I see. They got paintball, bowling alleys, archery (wtf!) & dance class (u cud see thru), art academy among all other usual shops now.

Oh ok enough about the mall; IMCAS is on from 14/3/09 to 12/6/09. When I was there today they are still putting up more artworks in the showrooms. I really think it’s pretty clever of them to use the whole floor as showroom. It’s nice to get into each small shop lot to view the art pieces and finishing it off by going inside the main shop lot. Very nice indeed!  Tomorrow I’m going to KL for some work and play until 22/3/09, but I’m going to IMCAS again when I get back (btw, it’s a 3 months exhb, so no rush). If you like arts like this, why not come to IMCAS, it’s really great to view people ideas, opinions & perspectives thru their works, and it’s refreshing!

Maybe I will post again about this with some pictures (if they permits)  next time!
