Perfecto Pancake

I have visited this place for several time, from the first visit easily this has become one of my favorite restaurant, however be aware, the service here are slow. For the fact that it took time to prepare some of the dish,,,,and yes, I do forgive them for being slow ( Perhaps the only restaurant in the world where I wouldn’t mind them being late) but nonetheless they are polite. Ok let me explain

As usual, me and my partner in crime are wondering around looking for things that we would like to have a bite…ok not have a bit, a decent dinner actually…and upon passing by Paddington, we made immediate decision to go in.

The interior design is quite nice, simple yet elegance. Very much English influenced. Well you don’t expect pancake house with Indian or Chinese deco.

We quickly browse through the menu and at first (not during our second and hundred other trip) we are shocked at the variety it offer. For god sake, the base of the food is only pancake and look at the variation of things that they could come up with. Look at the text book like menu…damn it man…I cant believe it. 100 menus derived from a pancake.  All different type and it surely serve people appetite from all walk of life. From meat lover, to seafood lover. There is also poultry base menu , not forgetting sweet, savory and kiddies… And it is all about pancake.

I ordered Mexican double burger which come with double beef patties, with lettuce, pineapple ring, guacamole, gherkins, grilled cheddar, fries and healthy supplies of pickles. Not forgetting the pancake that has replace the regular bun you found in normal burgers. Whilst my partner in crime order a scrumptious California double sausage  that is served with beef salami, hashbrown  & grilled mozzarella pancake.

For the drinks , I ordered the Banana and Manggo Shake, whilst she took ice lemon tea for herself. Ok that is quite mundane isn’t it. The drink come first, as usual, and I quickly suck the straw hard to quench my thirst. And it is like Oh My God kind of taste which is superb. The milk is just enough with light sweetness, and the flavor of sweet fresh banana swindle the sourness of fresh mango, you will feel a sensation erupted in your heart the moment every each drop of the drink salvage your taste bud .Perfecto ---- And for the ice lemon tea, its good….mundane good.

Come the dish….and I was like …WOW….this look nice…smells good…the exact same smell you had when you past by a good bakery shop or donut shop like the Big apple, jaco etc…the sweet smell of bread, vanilla , honey and sugar…that is the smell of the pancake….

I couldn’t resist myself, I took my fork, jab hard into the burger, took up my knife and slice down the thick beef patty that has been sandwiched well in between two pancake, sunny side up egg, pineapple ring and lettuce…add in a bit of pickle in between, and dip it deep into the guacamole (Of Aztec origin, guacamole was originally made by mashing ripe avocados, with a molcajete (mortar and pestle) and adding tomatoes and salt – taste a bit like mustard, in a good way) and with a swift motion, my jaw opened wide and I send the delicious looking portion of the burger to my mouth… and the result ??

In a slow motion kind of reaction First you would notice the savory taste of guacamole, which is slightly weird but good, then your jaw shut and your teeth sunk deep penetrating first the layer of pancake, hence releasing the sweet flavor of honey , sugar and vanilla,  then your teeth move further cutting deep the bitter taste of lettuce and moving forward to the pineapple which release a slightly sweet but acidic taste and finally, you strong jaw and sharp teeth reap apart the ever delicious and scrumptious, and delicious home made burger with a full taste of red meat which not only feel delicious but becoming mind blowing when all the flavors mention above combine and bring a brute attacking force to your taste bud…………silent………….then suddenly you realized that you are still where you are before…..you took a deep breath, and start swallowing , and the moment your mouth chamber become empty, you saliva start dripping signaling that you want more of this delicious scrumptious delicious experience. Then suddenly you start praying and expressing gratitude to God for inspiring the cook to come up with such delightful flavors.

The saliva keep on dripping, then I look at my partner in crime, and without hesitation my fork move swiftly to her plate, thrusting deep into huge meaty sausage , and cut it into one big pieces with the help of my knife on my right hand. Pull it back but not before I cut a bit of pancake, with a bit of beef salami and dip it right into the small bowl provided containing a black paper sauce….then quickly you ran it through heading directly to your mouth…once again its happening, but this time , the flavor is totally different, spicy but savory taste of black paper sauce combine with salty taste of meaty salami, sweet taste of pancake and finally rubbery, meaty full flavor sausage, which taste really good, mix together with all flavors giving you unforgettable sensation that will ensure you coming back for more.

I cant write anymore…this experience was before last night and now im fasting, I couldn’t resist the memory…I need to stop before any further damage,,,im drooling ….everybody looking….i  need to stop..go venture yourself.

In the end, the damage is 69.00 with a full smile on the way back home.

p/s on my other visit , I have also tried another dish which is basically consist of full baby chicken , lots and lots of peach, carrot and tomate, with honey lemon sauce and that is marvelous. The downside is, it took about 45 minute to prepare that dish….

Ahhh….i miss the taste already….
