From My Desk: Sharing is Not Really Caring Sometimes

Admittedly, relationship is a messy thing. I'm talking in general about relationships; be it friends, families or even between two people in love. Indeed, it is a messy thing.

Sometimes, even to talk to a friend can become a chore. Imagine trying to tell your bestfriend that you just won the Spell-it Right competition but you just found out that her pet cat died. It did not seem too crucial to you but knowing her, she would be devastated to lose the pet.

There are times that we have to just shut up.

Everybody has a very good friend and I'm blessed with one. Despite that, we have come to a mutual respect that she would not be mentioned in my blog or anything although we did tons of things together. It is the sign of respect of her privacy. It is just that.

In that sense, I perceive relationship as the same thing too. I do not hate nor I like knowing people know about me from other people. Example, I told someone my favourite food. Actually, I would really much prefer my favourite food not to be circulated all around the place or I would have pasted it on the Live Feed or something. And with all due respect, I do not see why the topic of my favourite food should be talked about in the first place.

You know, the relationship between a friend to another is considered special. We do make mistakes and we call that slip of a toungue. But to say it to the public, for example in the chatroom or something, is a bit much. I just don't get it. What is so important of telling others that this person likes this, this person likes that? If the person being talked prefer to be gossipped like that, I believe he or she will have a blog that will absolutely tell us everything we need or do not need to know, right?

And it is just not the type of food that people like. In general, gossiping.

This thing might not be important to everyone, it might be considered tribial. One might not care but don't you think it will be nice to respect others' privacy? Just refrain from telling everybody about it.
