I think I want to write again. When I read Haruki Murakami’s book. I find that wow I think I want to just sit and write. Write about running about  being a novice runner who is struggling and about trying to juggle everything as I go along. I have been improving my fitness steadily unlike my ‘kiasu’sis (I say this with love) who has been hammering/pounding the pavement every week because she can.

My sisters will say that I started running way before they started. One is in Netherlands and running all races (10k per race getting faster by the minute). The other one is in KL and she has been a late bloomer started later than both of us but getting much better. I just caught the bug again in 2011 started when my sis asked me to run both of us first timers during that time to run for 5K. I trained for it for a while and I was panting and gasping as I went along. Suffice to say I thought I was going to die. I know whoever is reading this will be feeling  “Bahhh.. a lot of Malaysians are running and they are much better than you” Of course and I am so proud of them for slowly being like this. You hardly see Malaysian women especially mums running now I have a friend who has three kids and competing for a triathlon. Amazing. My journey is a little slower and the pace is at a snail’s pace. While everyone is doing a marathon I am only now slightly confident in running a 10K. I was just about to slowly get better and then suddenly I fell and slipped and there’s one helluva of a swollen ankle with bruises all over and the funny thing is, it wasn’t because of running but because I climbed a hill and then I fell at the foot of the hill. Sigh... I guess I have to start again. It’s upsetting because I do miss pounding the tarmac going to a place and just run. Waking up at a godforsaken time on Saturday’s and Sunday’s just to run. I get a buzz looking at the sun rising as I ran along the  Mengkuang dam in Penang. I get a buzz whenever we(my sisters and me) run. We ran in Netherlands, Germany and whenever  I am back in KL we would just run. Let’s just call it sisterly bonding.

After getting my first GPs watch I was so excited about running and trying to beat my own time. Unfortunately I have only worn it once. My sprained pitiful swollen ankle. Been hobbling around  and moping and whingeing to my poor husband who actually has had more injuries than me( a rugger when he was younger). Looking at my new watch and my seriously bright running kit from my top to bottom forlornly at this moment. Crossing my fingers and hoping that I could heal and do much better after one month.
