ED - Part I

Previous short story:
Barely Breathing
Next short story:
Glorious Charge

It has been a few weeks and I am satisfied with the recipe that you gave me. I mean..i know I look good! Jenny will not be able to make fun of me ever again. Her hips are bigger than mine nowadays.

You understood me really well, ED. You gave me everything that I need to be happy. Yes, I know I was happy but not as happy as before. I wasn’t really happy when I saw snapshots of Julie in her photo shoot session. She was really beautiful and I really envy that slim figure she had. And thanks to you, I am beginning to head that way also! I am on my way to flatter abs and smaller arms. You know what, I hate my arms. It looks like a huge slab of mutton placed on my body. And that is exactly the reason why I didn’t wear any short-sleeved shirts. I missed the times when I can just wear baby-tees and walk around the shopping malls with my friends.

Ah…them! They were ever so lucky. Julie, me and Anne…the trio. We used to be very popular in school; dubbed as the most popular hot chicks in high school. We changed boyfriends as frequent as we change our skirts. We knew that many idolized us then due to our looks, mainly.

Julie became a model. Anne is now on her way becoming a popular actress. And me? I am still here, looking sloppy and ugly. I missed them a lot. That was how everything started. I missed talking to them so much but they were ever so busy. I have always been the quiet and dependent one of the trio. They were like my sisters who kept me company and listen to all my woes. When they disappeared, I am lost. I was devastated and started eating like nobody’s business.

Oh ED! I have got to go now. Someone is at the door and I need to hide this letter to you or I’ll get another earful.

See you later.

I have gained a kilo after James party. Can you believe it? I went to James party? He..James..invited me? Jenny must be in a terrible shock to learn all this. She was ever so cocky when she gave that sneer; looking at me up and down. Luckily James rushed into the scene to save me from embarrassment…

These are among the entries Bella wrote in her diary underneath her mattress. Her father found it while cleaning Bella’s room a week ago. Ashley can’t help but wonder about this ED. Was Bella writing to a pen pal named ED? That is quite far-fetched since it is pretty impossible to find people writing letters to communicate.

Ashley slapped her forehead. There was a possibility of Bella having ED as chat buddy. Well…there is not much that Ashley can deduce from because she knows very little of it. She badly wants to know who this ED dude. Was he from Bella’s college? Training colleague or just someone Bella met during her countless counselling session? Bella is gone so nobody can answer that question for her.

Ashley knew Bella is going to be terribly mad if she knew Ashley read her diary. Except, there is no more Bella. What was left was just proof that once, Bella walked on earth and left a mystery unsolved of someone named ED. Or something.

To be continued….
