Youth Convention '08
Posted by: uculer at 23/01/2008, 14:34:28 PM

It was really a great invitation. I was particularly interested in knowing what they were doing. I'm not so much into all the Battle of The Bands and stuff. And based on my previous job, I know that people can pay up to USD$ 3k to go to conventions. So, since Jo has given me the opportunity to go, why not?

I arrived at 8 a, which is pretty early. Even the people working for the even looked like they just got out of the bed. But it was realy encourging to see people keep on coming to attend the convention.

It was really good to see what's going on in the industry currently. The enterpreneurs are amazingly young. some of them ventured into business at the tender age of 13. And most of them utilizes the Internet to make millions, apart from creating jobs for othe rpeople. Can you imagine a guy who's like 23 of age and has businesses in the Asia Pacific region and the US? What was I doing when I was 23? Probably lazing around and being a couch potato.

Well, despite the fact that we have to work smart to achive what we want in live, in this era, it's very important to work fast also. That's what most of the speakers mention during the convention. Everyday is money and you lose one day, definitely you'll lose money. Although some of us might want to model and resketch the model and then think about it again, it's actually kind of waste to do just that. One we have around 70-80% of what we've got, it's better to shoot for it. Not trying will give us 0% of outcome but if we try, it will be some chance of seeing some outcome to it.

Most of the speakers are indeed very humble people with very humble beginning. Despite their young age, it's undeniable that they are very mature. They unselfishly shared a lot of experiences during that convention.

It was great and it was fun. If only more of my people would come, it will be great. I actually sat beside an ex-headmaster who paid for the convention to hear what these young people can share with them.

This is just a short thing but what I can say is, I will definitely come for it the next time they are having it around. If I can't understand what they were talking, I can build network. And believe it or not, sometimes it matters who you know in this world.
